Hampton Inn Portage

Stopover on a road trip. Easy to find, well maintained property in the process of some upgrades/repairs (pardon our dust). Not a lot of amenities right nearby but convenient for travel. Kudos to the helpful and friendly staff who accommodated our request to leave a car in the lot for a few nights. Recommend!

It wasn't a bad hotel, but a little pricey for being a Tuesday and the elevator didn't work, one of the vending machines was out of commission and there was a section of ceiling in my room that needed attention. Also, the tub was hard to stand in for a shower. It was almost like concave or something, so it was awkward. The people were friendly though and it was quiet and clean.

This hotel deserves all 5 stars. We, my wife and I, stayed in 218 room and it was spotless. We were warmly greeted by young fellow at the front desk, and all after was perfect. It was quite and cozy place. Breakfast was also tasty, as I can speak for eggs and potatoes. If I would have a need to stay again, I would choose the same place.

This hotel has been very recently & very nicely renovated. We travel often for work & have seen many Reno’s - this one was nicely done! Leslie checked us in & was so very pleasant, helpful & professional - we’d like to give 5 stars to her as well! Wonderful hotel & staff!

Amazing stay. Was much needed after a long day on the road and a sore back. Felicia and Amy at the front desk were so sweet and kind! They welcomed my dogs and I, gave them treats and were so friendly. There are renovations going on but nothing too bothersome, plus it's well worth it! The updated rooms are nice!! They are under new management now from what I understand so that's also a bonus!

We stayed at this Hampton inn for two nights. we arrived early and the manager allowed us to check in to our room early with no fee, greatly appreciated. We've stayed here multiple times because we take the South shore commuter train at at dune Park into Chicago. It Is a short 15 minute trip to that train station from this hotel. Every time we've stayed at this hotel we have enjoyed ourselves. I don't understand all the bad reviews. we've never had a dirty room everyone has always been courteous and now under the new management the whole hotel is being redone it's fresh and new the beds were and still are very comfortable the breakfast is a typical Hilton breakfast, same stuff you get at every Hilton and it is always clean in the breakfast area. The best thing we like about this hotel is the incidental fees is only $50 for your whole stay, if you say in Chicago the incidental fees there are $100 a night plus maybe three or $400 a night during peak season for your stay. If I could give this hotel 10 Stars I would it's in a great location if you don't like the hotel breakfast there's a Denny's in walking distance and then there's a Bass pro maybe 5 minutes away with multiple restaurants a short drive away. This is a great hotel with great management.

We enjoyed our stay here! The place was clean and smelling good, the breakfast was amazing. Fresh cooked eggs and sausages, they the waffle makers going, they had milk and cereal and juices. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The only complaint I have is that the hotel was under construction and I feel like the presentation of the hotel itself couldve been better but thats it. Its a nice, quiet, clean place to stay.

I had terrific nights stay. Noise level was great. My room was directly across from elevators, still slept peacefully ! Full breakfast for hunger stomachs.
